I work for Seattle Art Museum’s SAM Shop, and we are happy to say that we are now (as of last week!) selling the Lin Onus poster image of The Gathering Storm. The piece is presented with a white border, and poster measures 24″ x 21″, retailing for $15.

Just wanted to add a note that I adore that painting, too; it’s by far my favorite piece in SAM, and sometimes I’ll go on free days just to look at it.

I’m trying to find a print of it as well, and came across your blog.

I visited SAM 2 years ago and I fell in love with Lin Onus’ “Gathering Storm” as well and have been trying to find a print. I think it is one of my all time favorite pieces of art. So I have been searching the web ever since in my spare time – and just searched again and this post just came up. Maybe we should start a petition to get this painting into print!

Digital Art Directory does offer (extraordinarily expensive) prints of some Onus works, but I don’t see “Gathering Storm”.

This was one of my favorite paintings that I saw at SAM.. no prints available

They do sell the postcard at the SAM gift shop.

Try Picturestore.com.au. I am pleased to know that you like the onus painting. He did a series of fish paintings – i.e with the Australian aboriginal “trademark” patterns and colours on the fishes. I bought one of them ages ago for a small amount. You may be interested to know that he had painted the same patterns and colours on frogs, stingrays, etc.

I emailed the fireworks gallery and they told me that they do not have it, but they are also looking for a place to purchase prints. So far no luck…I love how many people were moved by this piece! I will keep searching and let you all know what I find.
